Quad Video Multiplexer for HD TVI AHD Analog CCTV Cameras
http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/HD4 – The VM-HD4 is a quad video multiplexer that works with analog CCVT, HD-TVI, and AHD security cameras. 720p and 1080p AHD and HD-TVI cameras are supported. It also works with both NTSC and PAL video standards.
What is a CCTV video multiplexer?
A CCTV video multiplexer takes video input from multiple security cameras and combines the video signals so they can all be viewed on one TV monitor with different screen configurations. For example 4 cameras on a screen. Multiplexers are sometimes called quad processors, CCTV quads, and a Mux.
The VM-HD4 multiplexer has 4 BNC video inputs, an HDMI output, and a VGA output. The HDMI output can be connected to an HD TV and users can control the video display layout using the wireless remote control that is included. Users can select between single, double, quad, picture-in-picture, and scrolling camera views.
One of the best features of the VM-HD4 is that each channel can take input from an analog CCTV, AHD, or TVI camera. This allows users to mix different security camera types on the same system.
The VM-HD4 can be used in conjunction with a DVR or as a stand-alone device if the user only requires a live view from their security cameras.
When used with a DVR, the installer can use a video splitter to send video from a cameras to both the recorder and the multiplexer. For example, a retail store may want to display a live video feed of multiple cameras on a single monitor as a store entrance to let shoppers know that the store is monitored by video surveillance. HD-CCTV DVRs sometimes do not have an HDMI output in addition to the regular monitor output that supports a multi-camera view. A quad can be used in conjunction with a DVR to solve this problem
